Teams LogoAdventure updateBarnaul - Russia at 12:23 on Ulanbattered said Desperately trying to find a hotel in Barnaul it turned out we were stopped next to one! It was no ordinary hotel but a boutique hotel with unique rooms you chose from a menu, we went for the one with scantily clad women on the walls, Team Xtreme the red revolution style one. After a Czech meal we nervously eyed up a dodgy looking club but through the doors it was a fire station themed TGI Fridays! WTF! Directions to a proper club were given, ** some text is missing **

Teams LogoAdventure updateRubtsovsk - Russia at 11:07 on Ulanbattered said Having had our shock absorber fixed for free we trundled into Rubtsovsk to be greeted by the Siberian off-road champion who quite liked our car! A crazy Armenian then fed us at his cafe, invited some crack whores who we managed to ditch, and then took us out drinking and organised a secure car park 4 us to camp. Day 1 in Russia!

Other than that all is well and our convoy of two now boasts a banana boat but we hear the mongol border is slow.

Yakshemash from Almaty! Finally found some good internet and we were hoping to upload some photo's but it is proving difficult even here so it will have to wait until we get back to the UK im afraid. Everything still awsome and we will continue with out text updates for now. Heading out tonight so will probably have a midday departure for the two day drive to the Russian border on the 14th. ... Teams LogoAdventure updateBiskek - Kyrgyzstan at 11:37 on Ulanbattered said Carlsberg don't make countries but if they did it would be like Kyrgyzstan, stunning countryside with snow capped peaks and fast flowing rivers. Bishkek nightlife is also something to behold, our heads are feeling a little sore especially when vodka is cheaper than water!

Teams LogoAdventure updateAndijon - Uzbekistan at 13:06 on Ulanbattered said slept in andijon to make it a quick mornong hop to the kyrgz border but woke up feeling a little confused, the old man paid to look after the car had predictably fallen asleep and the car had been broken into. The locals however weren't interested in the laptop or camera but we were down a few pairs of rubber gloves and a jubilee clip. Odd, very odd.

Don't worry folks, all ıs well! However, after drıvıng from Prague to İstanbul (1200 mıles through Czech, Germany, Austrıa, Hungary, Serbıa and Bulgarıa ın 2 days) we have been a lıttle busy to be updatıng the blog! In Istanbul now at the awesome Conrad hotel but forgot to brıng the memory card to the ınternet cafe so you wıll have to waıt untıl tomorrow for the pıctures ım afraıd (worth waıtıng for though - some stunnıng vıews out the car as we blıstered through south eastern Europe) So, a proper update tomorrow and we wıll contınue to send sms updates... Thanks to our friends at Cooper Accident Repair, the Beast of Baatar is now sporting the sort of 'Scooby Scoop' usually only fitted to a Subaru Imprezza! Will it make our steed go any faster than its 65mph top speed? Probably not, but it will help cool the poor engine in the heat of the desert sun. Not quite sure how we will cool ourselves mind, but you know what they say about mad-Scots and Englishmen.
