We're doing We've done the Mongol Rally!
10,000 miles across 13 countries, through vast deserts, mountain ranges and wilderness, The Mongol Rally is all about adventure and getting off the beaten track in countries some people have never heard of. We'll find ourselves hundreds of miles from civilisation, in unknown lands, and to top it all off we'll be in a 1.3 litre hatchback Skoda!
Unlike most car rallies, this one has no designated route, no time limit, and no assistance on the way. There is a start point (Goodwood, England), and end point (Ulanbataar, Mongolia), what happens in between is completely up to us!
The rally raises shed loads of cash every year for some fantastic charities helping those with unbelievably hard lives in our destination country of Mongolia! Now in its seventh year, we are really excited to be one of the teams taking part in the 2009 rally, looking for a once in a lifetime adventure into the unknown!
So this is us, Lee Tuffnell and Bob Twells, and along with our car "Alice" we are "Soldiers of Fortune" and this site is where you can follow our adventure and hopefully help us raise some money.
You can find out more about us here, and well as more about the charities and sponsorship here.
We'll be keeping our blog up to date with the latest news in the run up to rally launch on 19th July, and also while we're on our journey whenever we are able to.
Will we make it to Mongolia? Will we even make it to Dover? Who knows, but we're going to give it our all, raise lots of money, and have a lot of fun trying!
