Finally arrived in Ulaanbaatar earlier today. It's been a long, hard couple of days drive but we've come to the end of our journey at alast. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride but we've enjoyed every minute. Nice now to get back to civilization and a shower is most definitely welcome.

Our early start has been delayed by having 2 stop as both khanucks and martin bros had broken suspension springs. Martin bros are fixed but meanwhile Khanucks had 2 go on ahead 2 try next town for parts as no springs 2 fit their car. Not sure if our plan 2 make Semey tonight will happen now.@

Hopefully we will head to cooler climes shortly. The pic below was taken at the Aral sea on one of the ships stranded when the sea shrank. On to russia and then mongolia...

police were fine. Just wanted 2 take down details and destination. They were watching soccer at their checkpoint and just wanted 2 chat about that and to show off their ranks and how big Kaz compared 2 britain. From their log book looks like most rallyers passing by had the same. Time 2 camp.

Hooray tarmac at last. After a couple of bone jarring days of off roading and some of the worst roads ever we finally found some road we can drive on for more than 100m. In Aral trying to source water and supplies but no local currency left as we used the last to pay some locals with a truck to pull us out of trouble when we got totally stuck in sand. Seems like a small place so not sure if a bank or ATM here. Time to explore the town.
