THE MONGOL RALLY 2009

24 Countries in 6 Weeks!

15,000 Km

The Mongol Rally is an exercise in lunacy and endurance; taking cars across 1/3 of the Earth's surface in vehicles better designed for getting the groceries than making an epic trip such as this.  With the engine of each vehicle displacing no more than 1.3L (1300cc), each team is on their own to make it from point A to point B, taking anywhere from four to six weeks.  There are no professional racers here; only two men with lofty goals and a few wrenches between them.

On the 18th of July 2009, Kent Fabian and John Mark Campbell of Vancouver, collectively know as TEAM CANADIALAND, will depart from London, England along with approximately 300 other teams on an automotive expedition known as the Mongol Rally, which will take these two accidental adventurers from Canada to far-away England, to even-further-away Mongolia; all in order to raise money for charity.

The rally, which is now in it's 6th year, invites adventurers from all over the World to raise glorious amounts of money for some extremely worthy causes, all the while, taking part in a once in a lifetime adventure.

This year, Team Canadialand has formed to raise money for MERCY CORPS, and internationally recognized aid organization that provides humanitarian assistance around the world, including Mongolia, where the team will be heading.  Last year over 200 teams raised over $600,000 for charities in Mongolia, Tajikistan and elsewhere.  This year will see over 300 teams and the potential to raise even more money for those less fortunate.
